A number of factors attract foreingers to the area: excellent climate,
natural beauty, reasonable cost of living, and friendly people. All

The principal attraction to Lake Chapala is, its semitropical climate,

75 Fahrenheit, the sun shines almost every day.
Even when the cooling rains come (June to September), it almost always
rains during the late-night or pre-down hours, with the sunshine
returning during the day. So moderate is the temperature that air
conditioning and heating units are very rarely seen. Fireplaces are
commun, although mostly for ambiance.
Mexicans and foreingners alike enjoy the area’s
colonial arquitecture, razonable priced hand-crafted goods and
both Tradicional and Mexican cuisine.

ethnic restaurants, steak houses, and imported goods of all varieties
can be found. Two five-star hotels, spas, touring companies and scores
of English-speaking organizations serve the year-round residents,
snowbirds (northens who winter here) and tourists.
AJIJIC
A few miles west of Chapala lies the town of Ajijic, home to the

found Ajijic to be the perfect place to pursue their work.
The town possesses numerous villas and luxury homes with every modern
convenience, all hidden behind large walls and graced with lush,
